Careers FAQs

Everything you need to know about applying to UTC Overseas.

Application timelines

How long does the hiring process take?+

Most hiring processes take between two and six weeks from application to offer, depending on the role, the location and the number of applicants.

When will I hear back after applying?+

You receive an email confirming your application straight away. Our recruiting team reviews every application and aims to contact shortlisted candidates within two weeks.

Can I apply for more than one position?+

Yes. Apply for each role that matches your experience. If you're not sure which role fits, send a General Application and we'll match you to suitable openings.

What if there is no suitable opening right now?+

Send a General Application. We keep promising profiles on file and contact candidates when a matching position opens.

Interview process

What are the interview stages?+

Typically: a short phone or video screening with recruiting, an interview with the hiring manager and team, and for some roles a final conversation with regional leadership.

Are interviews in person or online?+

First interviews are usually by video. Later stages may take place in the local office so you can meet the team.

Will there be an assessment?+

Some roles include a practical exercise, such as a routing or quotation case for coordinator positions, or a short analysis task for finance roles.

How should I prepare?+

Learn about UTC's services and industries, review the job description, and be ready to share examples of how you solved problems for customers or handled complex shipments.

What UTC looks for

What qualities matter most?+

A customer-focused attitude, ownership of results, clear communication and the ability to stay calm and organised when shipments are complex or time-critical.

Do I need freight forwarding experience?+

It helps for coordinator and operations roles, but it's not always required. We value transferable experience in logistics, trade, engineering, finance and customer service.

Are languages important?+

UTC works across 17 countries, so additional languages are a plus, especially for international and project roles.

What kind of culture does UTC have?+

We are a close-knit global team built on passion, dedication and knowledge — the same values we bring to our customers every day.
